Sustainability
The contaminated soil on this previously industrial land is capped and sealed deep. The new site allows rainfall to be filtered and gradually released into Lake Ontario. Since the park has been constructed there has been an increase in diversity of fish species in the slips adjacent to this park.
This is public space where residents and visitors can access on street level, bike along the waterfront, rest on green dunes or relax on the sand under yellow umbrellas near the water.
