Sustainability

The Cherry Street North Bridge will provide access to Villiers Island from Toronto. The prefabricated steel bridge foundation was delivered on barge to be assembled and installed on site in the Port Lands. The project will be a transformation of the underutilized industrial lands for long term economic growth and downtown revitalization opportunities.

The Port Lands will provide flood protection, housing, infrastructure, and parks.  It will create new natural habitats, re-establish wetlands, strengthen biodiversity, and help clean the water.
